Is this something your Dodge dealership has addressed for you?

A guess. A loose or corroded connection or a TIPM problem. Everything is multiplexed through the CAN data bus these days so it's tough for a DIYer to troubleshoot beyond inspecting connections. The TIPM and the liftgate connections would be my targets. The TIPM is the totally integrated power module better known as your fuse box. Disconnect the negative battery cable before accessing connections. Afterwords you may need to reset your radio security code.
BTW - Some forums have Chrysler Corp customer care reps as members. They do come in handy in many situations but they sure do push the company line don't they.
