1942 Dodge Power Wagon 6×6: A Fanboy’s Wet Dream

By -

Boasting a 6×6 drivetrain, this Power Wagon by Legacy Conversions mixes period-correctness and I-do-what-I-want-ness.

Pickup trucks and SUVs rule the current classic vehicle market. The vintage muscle-car revival has officially joined the history books and this new era brings much cooler and rugged vehicles.

The Dodge Power Wagon has slowly climbed through the ranks, commanding ever-rising prices at auctions across the nation. While most folks are looking for pristinely restored models, others — like Winslow Bent — look for rusty, dilapidated, abandoned-in-a-field samples.

Bent owns Legacy Conversions, and the gorgeous 1942 Dodge Power Wagon seen here is his baby. He loves her so much, he’s taken it to Jay Leno’s Garage so it can be shared with the world. As for us, we’re a little jealous!

Of course, this isn’t “any” 1942 Power Wagon — it’s a restomod. In other words, it maintains most of its vintage charm but has added the necessary modern tech to make it a reliable daily driver. The 8,000-pound truck features a proper Cummins 3.9-liter (4VT) turbo diesel under the hood and a fully operational 6×6 drivetrain. That means each of the four rear wheels can operate individually, unlike other 6×6 aftermarket conversions.

Don’t take our word for how stunning this truck is, enjoy the video!
