Buy A Vintage Dodge FBI Van And Live Out Your Spy Dreams
When “Neighborhood Watch” is more than an idea, it’s a way of life.
If you’re like us, you wish you could be a spy at least once in your life. Or at the least have access to some of the amazing equipment the experts use. Well, it appears that you don’t need a fortune or a license to kill to be part-time spy. All you need is $18,000 and a plane ticket to Raleigh, North Carolina. An enterprising gentleman named Ginter Senfeldas has just sold a 1989 Dodge 2500 Van that was owned and used for surveillance by the FBI.

Ginter says he picked up the van at a government auction to use it as a work rig. It wasn’t until after the auction that he realized it was loaded with surveillance equipment. Along with the usual collection of TVs, cameras, and binoculars, there’s a toilet, and microphones hidden all over the van’s body. It’s not much of a style statement though.
Of course, spying in van all day is probably pretty boring. So if you ever get the undercover blues, we suggest a quick paint job. Why not turn this FBI van into a new version of Scooby-Doo’s Mystery Machine? You can help those meddling kids unravel a dastardly cover up every week. Can you imagine the crime rings that Daphne could take down if she had access to this type of equipment?
The van was listed as an auction on eBay, and it sold last night for $18,700. When we first heard the news yesterday, we were told the auction was going until Monday, but we sadly missed it. We’re reaching out to the buyer to ask some questions about the van and if he’ll miss it. Be sure to check back later and we’ll try to get you guys an update.
Until then, start looking for local government auctions and perhaps when you open the door to your government van you can yell “Gotcha!” as you gaze across all your fancy new espionage equipment.
