1971 Plymouth Satellite “Beastie” Has Earned Its Nickname

Meet Beastie, a 1971 Plymouth Satellite project gone right. Starting with a straight and mostly rust-free body, the owner did a very unique resto-mod. The body panels may look like they have been sanded down to bare metal, and that’s because they are. A clear coat on top of that keeps the unique look free from the elements.

The inside has been mostly left alone, aside from a few re-trim pieces here and there and new carpeting. It’s said to be quite comfortable and all of the electronics, including the gauges, are in working order. The best part of the car is under the hood though. A 440 big block is mated to a three-speed Torqueflight automatic transmission. That block has been upgraded with a larger lift camshaft, upgraded lifters, and an Edelbrock 4bbl carb.

You can’t judge this book by its cover. Not only does it have a roaring V8 under the hood, but a lot of mechanical components have been re-conditioned. All new ignition components are in place, along with all new fuel components. And suspension has been re-built and aligned. It all makes for a unique car that’s ready to go, or it could make for a good starting point as someone’s new product.
