Ram 1500 Built for a 36-Day Overlanding Trip

YouTuber explores Arizona, California, Utah and Nevada in a cinematic off-road journey.

Gear Into Adventure is an adventure lifestyle vlogger’s YouTube channel. For his first full-on overlanding trip, this guy isn’t just dipping his toe in the water… he’s going straight for the deep end. The first episode of this video series is about the preparations for a 36-day trip across four desert states.

Overlanding a RAM 1500

He doesn’t introduce himself by name, but we gather he’s called Victor. What Victor lacks in introductory skills he makes up for with a heavy eastern European accent and a huge sense of adventure. He certainly seems well-prepared despite having rushed the build of his Ram 1500. He’s loaded up on gadgets but, most importantly, a solid navigation system as well as physical maps. On top of that, he’s made sure he has plenty of fuel as well as an air compressor.

Victor mentions on his Facebook page that he has plenty of footage to edit up into episodes, so the good news is that he survived. He also mentions there were a lot of challenges and some breakdowns, so this should be interesting to follow.

Victor doesn’t go into the mechanicals of the Ram 1500 build in the video, but we do know he’s running a Zone Offroad six-inch suspension system with Pro Comp SS Monotube shock absorbers. To control the body roll, he uses a Hellwig lifted rear sway bar kit. For traction, he has Fuel Assault 17-inch wheels wrapped with Nitto Exo Grappler tires. For when traction fails, he’s installed a waterproof Smittybilt winch.

All of that should boost the Ram’s already solid off-road ability. We look forward to seeing exactly how his adventure plays out.

Apparently i can send to facebook but what ppl write on facebook i cant recieve on my garmin inreach….good to know coz i only had silence besides SOS msgs conversations. Thank you all who responded or tried to help in some way while i was disconnected and asked for help. I'm out with the truck. By noon yesterday i manged to winch myself out to dry land and turn around just as deputies came for rescue in the afternoon. But then i ripped tire and thankfully they helped with changing coz i was drained by then. Im really tired and got first time to a motel just now and got a first take out restaurant meal. Im going to take bath and eat. Today im taking a break from everything. Lately I'm downgraded to 2G speeds so even when i have connection I can't really post stuff. Using wifi opportunity atm. ⛰️🏜️ Currently on overland trip across Arizona/california/nevada/utah📸🚙 🇨🇦 Follow me also on: Facebook/Instagram/youtube @GearIntoAdventure Still need some gear in near future ⚙️: Shower system Solar/extra batteries setup Batwing awning Rooftop busket tie down cargo boxes. His obsession with cars started young and has left him stranded miles off-road in Land Rovers, being lost far from home in hot hatches, going sideways in rallycross cars, being propelled forward in supercars and, more sensibly, standing in fields staring at classic cars. His first job was as a mechanic and then trained as a driving instructor before going into media production.

The automotive itch never left though, and he realized writing about cars is his true calling. However, that doesn’t stop him from also hosting the Both Hand Drive podcast.
