Thief Dodge Challenger

When a thief tried to steal her Dodge, a woman used quick thinking (and Super Unleaded gas) to chase him off.

An unidentified woman in Rockdale County, Georgia is our hero of the week. When a man tried to take off with her white Dodge Challenger, she thought, “Oh, hell no. Not my Dodge.” She sprung into action and chased him off by covering the car thief in gasoline. Yeah, she’s a badass.

The woman was filling up her tank at a gas station when the robber came skulking up and got in her car. He thought he was stealthy enough to go unnoticed. Um, not so. The Challenger owner spotted him, and saw he was trying to start up her car. She immediately grabbed the gas pump and covered him in gasoline.

“The victim did not see the suspect until he attempted to drive away in the vehicle,” Deputy Lee Thomas told WSB-TV News.

Covered in fuel, the thief immediately scampered off.

“It was like a movie. I didn’t realize it was actually happening,” a witness said. “My son told me, he said, ‘Dad, I think he’s trying to steal the car,’ and I was looking, and I heard the car revving up and the next thing I know, he jumped out of the car and he started running.”

The would be thief was captured on the gas station’s CCTV getting picked up by his getaway car, a Chrysler 3000. The same car was spotted earlier on tape dropping him off at the gas station.

Law enforcement in the area suspect this was not the first time  =that the man and his partner or partners have committed or attempted this brazen type of theft before. And they warn it is probably not the last time, either.

“This is definitely not the first time they’ve done this. I’m pretty sure they’ll be attempting it again,” says Deputy Thomas.

Police are asking for anyone with information on these thieves to contact the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Department. Check out the video for additional images of the thieves and the getaway car.

But we have to give it up to this quick-thinking, Dodge-driving woman. She handled the situation beautifully. Seriously, do not try to come between a driver and their Dodge!
