You Have a Dodge Challenger Hellcat for 24 Hours – What Do You Do?

What exactly would you do if given the red key to a 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat? Ready, set, go!

That’s the same decision I recently had to make, and although I got to keep “my” Challenger Hellcat for longer than just a day’s time, I found myself with little over 24 hours of sunny skies and dry roads before cataclysmic thunderstorms hammered the state of Texas.

As you’re well aware, this badass kitty is powered by a 6.2 liter supercharged V8, which pumps out an outrageous, violent, and quite scary 707 horsepower. And trust me when I say that it takes time getting used to the brutality of that many ponies going to the rear wheels.

So, what would you do with such a capable machine? Would you cruise up and down a boulevard showing it off, revving the engine at every opportunity? Perhaps you’d take it on a nice country drive and open up the throttle at the slightest sign of a straight piece of tarmac?

Well, I opted to do just a little bit of everything. I took it on the highway, narrow downtown streets, windy country roads… basically, I showed it off every time I could. In the process, I made my nine-year-old son sitting in the passenger seat laugh like a maniac, maybe even freaked him out once or twice when stepping on the throttle.

See, there’s driving a Hellcat, and then there’s daily driving a Challenger Hellcat. The latter will really make you appreciate what an incredible job the folks at FCA have done in turning something utterly wild into a car that’s comfortable, reliable, handsome, and hands-down easy to drive.

So, tell us, what would you do with a Hellcat?
