Dodge Challenger and Charger Jailbreak models offer unprecedented customization and 807 horsepower.

Last month, Dodge announced that the SRT Jailbreak trim level would be offered for both the Challenger and Charger for the 2022 model year. The aspect of the Jailbreak models which gets the most attention is the output of 807 horsepower, but this isn’t intended to be a performance package. With 807 horsepower, 707 lb-ft of torque and the standard widebody package on both the coupe and sedan, these are obviously high performance machines, but the SRT Jailbreak is about offering the most customization along with the most power.

Unlike other trim levels, which have restrictions on which interior and exterior options can be combined, the SRT Jailbreak versions of the Challenger and Charger have no limits on how you build them. You can combine any exterior color from the current portfolio, any stripe package, any wheel option, any brake caliper color, any interior color and more – offering unprecedented levels of factory-built customization for just $995 over the non-Jailbreak variants.

To walk prospective buyers through the process of building a customized Dodge Challenger or Charger SRT Jailbreak, the company issued a series of slides which we have included below.

Exterior Design of the Dodge Jailbreak Models

Whether you are buying a Challenger or Charger, building your ideal Dodge SRT Jailbreak model starts on the outside with the exterior colors. There are current 13 options – Triple Nickle, Granite, White Knuckle, Pitch Black, Go Mango, Octane Red, TorRed, Indigo Blue, F8 Green, Frostbite, Sinamon Stick, Hellraisin and Smoke Show – along with the promise of a new color coming soon.

Step two also pertains to the appearance of the body, allowing you to pick from a selection of stripes and matte-painted body panels. On both Challenger and Charger, the dual stripe option is offered in five colors while the Challenger has two unique black stripes and the Charger has a unique black stripe option of its own. You can also opt for the satin black hood on either car, while Challenger buyers can opt for having just the roof painted satin black or the hood, trunk and roof and Charger buyers can get a gloss black painted roof.

Steps three and four focus on the wheel area of the SRT Jailbreak, with seven different wheel options, showcasing unique designs and finishes, all measuring 20-inches by 11-inches. Behind them, the Brembo brake calipers can be painted six different colors, including the familiar red, along with gunmetal, black, orange, blue and yellow.

Jailbreak Cabin Options

Step seven of building a 2022 Dodge SRT Jailbreak model takes inside, starting with the seat options. Challenger buyers get seven different upholstery options while Charger buyers get five options. The Challenger can be ordered with Houndstooth cloth and Nappa Leather with Alcantara inserts, neither of which are available for the Charger. However, both models can be ordered with Laguna Leather in Black, Hammerhead Grey, Sepia or Red, along with black Laguna Leather with Alcantara inserts.

Step eight asks you to choose your floormats, seatbelt color and steering wheel. There are four different floormat options which each come with different colored trim, four seatbelt options including black, Hammerhead Grey, Sepia (brown) or Demonic Red and four steering wheel options – either leather- or Alcantara-wrapped, both of which can be ordered with either a white or red backlit badge in the center of the horn button.

Design Office Inspired Configurations

In addition to the extensive customization options of the SRT Jailbreak models, there are also a few prepared packages which combined unique options inside and out. At the end of the PDF detailing the Jailbreak custom order process, there are seven of these “Design Office Inspired Configurations”, each of which comes with specific options and a package name.

Brass Funky

Those prepared packages include Brass Funky, Old School, Red Dawn, The Classic, Old Glory, Yin Yang and Yeller. Each of these packages are offered on both the Challenger and Charger in Jailbreak form, and as you can see in the slides below, they are not all identical packages on the coupe and sedan. Several are similar in their appearance, but some have contrasting colors for a more unique look.

We have shared each of the slides detailing the Design Office Inspired Configurations for the SRT Jailbreak versions of the Dodge Challenger and Charger here.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
