Dodge Send-Off Rumor: Final Hellcat Could Pack 900+ HP

Final Dodge Hellcat

Days of the glorious internal combustion engine are numbered but the final Dodge Hellcat is throwing a 900-HP goodbye party.

All good things must come to an end. For the last several years we have been living the good life with a series of over-the-top powerful internal combustion engines. The Hellcat burst onto the scene and then things got ramped up with the Demon, Super Stock and the Jailbreak. Even a ‘regular’ Hellcat puts out a prodigious 717 horsepower. But like being inside a bar when the lights start flashing the good times are about to end. Dodge is set to announce a new all-electric muscle car soon and that is going to mean the end of the most powerful Hemi engines we know and love. But there is a silver lining to this sad news. The final Dodge Hellcat is rumored to crank out over 900 horsepower, making it the most powerful ever offered. Not a bad consolation prize.

All we have at this point are rumors, but they are exciting rumors, so let’s go with it. This final Dodge Hellcat is rumored to run on E85 ethanol fuel. And a ‘reliable source’ has told Mopar Insiders that this farewell model could produce a staggering 909 horsepower. The only figure larger than that will likely be the dealer markups that will be heaped on top of this final Dodge Hellcat. But let’s not dwell on that, instead we should focus on what a car like this would mean.

Exorcise the Demon

Demon

The Dodge Demon could produce up to 840 horsepower when running on 100 octane fuel. It currently stands as the most powerful vehicle to ever wear the SRT badge. If the final Dodge Hellcat does produce the rumored 909 horsepower it will obviously take that title. Talk about saving the best for last. Of course, an EV muscle car might be even faster but that is a story for another day.

Tomahawk

Final Dodge Hellcat

Stellantis has recently renewed its trademark protection for the name Tomahawk. Many think that this could be the name of the EV muscle car that Dodge is expected to produce. And that may indeed be the case. But if the final Dodge Hellcat is going to be the most powerful ever with over 900 horsepower that would be a vehicle perfectly suited to be called the Tomahawk. A Dodge Tomahawk would be a hell of a weapon to deal with on the drag strip.

Waiting Game

SRT

As we stated up front all this this is in the rumor stage right now. But considering the products that Dodge has been putting out over the last few years, getting a 900 horsepower Hellcat would not surprise us. In fact, NOT getting a 900 horsepower Hellcat would surprise us. And while it is a lot of fun to speculate that is really all we can do right now. The waiting game has started. What do you think the final Dodge Hellcat will be like? Let us know your thoughts in the Dodge Forum forums.
