Hellcat Challengers, Chargers and Jeeps turn in big wins in this track day compilation video.

If you spend the day at any drag strip in America, you are likely to see at least a few Dodge or Jeep vehicles packing the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat Hemi. The Hellcat Dodge cars and the Trackhawk are among the quickest vehicles on sale today and with more than 50,000 of vehicles with the Hellcat engine being sold since late 2014, there are plenty of them in the hands of active racers.

The video above comes to us from the ISFaster YouTube channel and chronicles a day at Auto Club Dragway in California. In this video, we are treated to a baker’s dozen of quarter mile races including at least one Hellcat-powered vehicle. Some are stock, some are modified and some break on the track, but this is some excellent modern Mopar track footage.

Hellcat Challengers in Action

During the course of this five-minute video, we see seven races including a Hellcat Challenger, including the opening run of the video. In that pass, a Destroyer Grey muscle car takes on a GT500 Mustang. The Dodge gets a great launch with a .003 reaction time and it hands the Ford a beating, running a 10.80 at 127 to the pony’s 12.84 at 109.

Hellcat Challenger Versus GT500

The next several Challengers that we see all have a tough time on the track. One takes on a 9-second Charger, but only manages to run an 11.45. One takes on a Lexus ISF twice and it runs in the 12-second range both times, losing both races to the 11-second sedan. A Hellcat Challenger also gets crushed by a surprisingly quick Chevy SS, but a few of the latter Challenger runs are solid.

Challenger Versus Charger

In one run, a Hellcat Challenger takes on a BMW M5. We don’t know what happens with the Bimmer, but the Dodge driver pulls a perfect .000 reaction time while the M5 sits at the line. The Mopar runs a 10.61 at 130 miles per hour while the BMW eventually crosses the line in the 12-second range.

The Sedans Stun the Crowd

While the Hellcat Challengers in this video are quick, the supercharged sedans are the quicker of the two groups. Early on in the footage, we see a black Hellcat Charger beat a Trackhawk followed by a white sedan beating a supercharged Jeep. There is a Charger that runs against a widebody Challenger and loses, while another breaks something at the line while taking on a quick Honda Civic.

Hellcat Charger versus Mustang GT

The most impressive runs in the video include a Hellcat Charger, starting with one that is taking on a Ford Mustang. The big Dodge jumps out and walks away, running a 9.92 at 141 miles per hour. Next, a lightning-quick four-door takes on a widebody Challenger. The sedan grabs the early lead and never looks back, running a 9.97 at 139 miles per hour. Later on, a different Hellcat Charger lines up with a red Volkswagen and while the little hatchback is kind of quick, the Dodge is a monster, running a 9.87 at 141 miles per hour.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
