Challenger Hellcat Takes Texas Rangers on Wild, High-Speed Chase

Once arrested, the suspect was allegedly proud of the triple-digit speeds he reached at the wheel of the Hellcat during the dangerous police chase.

High-speed police chases are scary, for many reasons. Once a vehicle reaches a certain speed it becomes extremely, if not impossible, to slow down, especially when driven by an inexperienced driver. For this reason, a speeding Dodge Caravan is dangerous, let alone a land-missile such as a Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

According to KSAT 12, Mohamed Ahmed Abu-Shlieba initiated a high-speed police chase in Houston, Texas, which lasted upwards of one hour and crossed three different counties. As this video by Gurvinder Longia shows, the driver did not think twice to put the pedal to the metal and make daring passes which are nothing short of maniacal.

According to reports, Abu-Shlieba allegedly stole the white Hellcat from an affluent area of Houston. After making his way through congested city streets, he opened her up for an adrenaline-packed ride on the highway. Weirdly enough, another report claims that Abu-Shlieba did not steal the car, but that he simply went for a fast ride after shopping at the famous The Galleria mall.

Once under arrest, Abu-Shlieba allegedly gave himself praise for his ridiculous speed and daring passes. As you can see on the video, he came extremely close to colliding with vehicles on several occasions, and even passed others along the shoulder. Thankfully, the 707-horsepower badass eventually ran out of fuel and forced him to pull over and eventually be apprehended.

Abu-Shlieba did joke around with the officers who arrested him, saying he had considered stopping for gas and “Let y’all catch up with me.” He is currently facing a charge of evading arrest.
