Petrolicious Features a Sublime 1969 Hemi Charger

By -

This Hemi Charger R/T is all original, save for a fuel pump, an alternator, and the color.

It wasn’t all that long ago that this 1969 Hemi Charger was sitting in a field and its engine was spread out in pieces. That’s how the current owner, Bromley Howser, found the car when he purchased it. Everything checked out, and the car was exactly as described, but it needed a full nut-and-bolt restoration to be perfect again. Painstaking man hours and lots of money were required to make this car whole again. But when it was finally finished, it was everything he ever could have hoped for.

Before you ask, Bromley has plenty of experience restoring cars. And it all began decades ago, with an old MG TF. More followed, as restoration seems to be more than a hobby for Mr. Howser. It’s a passion, a way of life — as you can see in the awesome Petrolicious video above.

For a while, this Charger was used on a fairly regular basis, but as its value crept upward, Howser planned it’s semi-retirement by purchasing another Charger to use for daily driving. When the ’69 was restored, originality wasn’t exactly a priority, but it did end up surprisingly original. The engine even had all of its original components available for the rebuild.

Back then, a color-change paint job was just to whatever his preference was, and Bromley chose a non-standard 1970 Lime Light Green. Because that’s what he wanted. We aren’t sure what the original color was, but we can’t really fault him for choosing Dodge’s best color.

Are you passionate enough about your Dodge to completely restore it and keep it around all these years later? If you are, we want to hear about your story, and other Dodge Forum members surely do, too. Chime in on the forums with your restoration story, and don’t leave out a single detail.
