Procharged E85 2017 Viper Makes Wild Power on Stock Block

By -

Unbelievable 800 wheel HP on 93 and 883 WHP on E85 for a stock engine Viper is pretty wild, and this V10 does it on low boost, too.

We don’t need to tell you the Viper is powerful. We don’t need to tell you it’s incredibly capable. You already know all of that. What we can tell you is that it never ceases to impress us when we do see a Viper making big numbers like it’s nobody business. These 8.4L V10s already made 650 HP from the factory easily, could you really ask for more? Well, we have shown you this very motor making over 2000 HP with the right modifications. You might say that it has potential on tap. We really don’t think FCA would have designed a 511 ci powerhouse if they didn’t think it could be an incredible engine.

This brings us to the 2017 Viper featured in this video. The car is up to be tuned by FiveBar Motorsports in Florida where it seeks to make some big power with some healthy mods. Thanks to Coyote carguy on YouTube, we get to see this Viper make a couple of pulls on the dyno.

According to the video, this fifth-generation Viper had already made 800 WHP on 93 octane on a Mustang dyno before this series of dyno runs, but they came back looking for more. Now the Viper is powered by E85 and the team managed to make around 850 WHP before running out of fueling. The resolution for this was to upgrade the 1000cc injectors to 1300ccs. After adjusting the fuel mapping for the added injector power, they proceed to do some pulls.

From what we know this Viper has a Procharger F1-X kit installed as well and you can definitely hear it even at idle. It makes an almost obnoxious amount of induction sounds to the point were it almost sounds like an airplane leaving the runway. We think that the sound of this engine couldn’t be described as anything less than intoxicating. Other than the supercharger, it features headers and an ECU upgrade. The last pull of the day results in 883 WHP at 12 psi at 6,600 RPM on the dyno after making the fueling adjustments.
