Quintin Brothers’ Challenger Had the Most Unique Backstory at SEMA

Customized Challenger was stolen and involved in multiple run-ins with the police before recovery.
During the week before the 2019 SEMA Show, the Quintin Brothers handed the modified Dodge Challenger Scat Pack that they built for the event over to a hauler who was shipping the car to Vegas. Unfortunately, shortly after getting to Sin City, a thief made off with the truck one night, then stealing the trailer carrying the custom Challenger the next night.
The car would eventually be recovered, but only after a high speed police chase that ended unsuccessfully, followed by a battle between the Dodge Challenger and police vehicles in a parking garage. However, the team still decided to showcase the car in the ProCharger booth with all of its damage, making this the most unique story of the 2019 SEMA Show.

Recovering the Challenger
In the ProCharger booth at SEMA, representatives from Quintin Brothers and the local police were on hand to explain the wild story of recovering this custom Scat Pack. As you can see, the car is badly wrecked across the front and down the sides, after clashing twice with police officers.
The modern Dodge Challenger is equipped with a tracking system through the UConnect system and build partners were getting messages from people who saw the car out cruising around Las Vegas. Authorities were able to “ping” the car and locate it, at which they began chasing the modified Mopar muscle car. The problem was that on the highway, police cruisers were no match for a fully built-and-blown Dodge Challenger Scat Pack, so it they gave up the chase and lost the car. Sometime during this chase, the lower radiator hose was damaged, so the car was likely not running right once the thief escaped that first chase.

Later on, the car was located in a parking garage, at which point the police swarmed once again. This time, the thief saw them coming and tried to take off, but he was stuck in the garage. He rammed a police car and nearly got free, causing the front fender and front fascia to be torn away, but with the Challenger overheating and badly wrecked, the crook fled on foot.

A few days later, the thief was arrested after he shot someone with a gun that was also stolen. As it turns out, stealing the Challenger was just part of a larger crime spree, at least some of which was conducted with this modified Scat Pack. The thief also apparently drove around with kids in the car, one of which was in a child seat that was still in the car at SEMA. They stopped to get McDonald’s a time or two as well, with their garage still laying throughout the interior with a mix of tools used to commit crimes.
Road to Recovery
In speaking with the folks working the ProCharger booth, we learned that this Dodge Challenger Scat Pack had been purchased by a customer of Quintin Brothers Performance and shipped directly to the performance shop from the dealership. The owner had never seen the car when the shop called to tell him that the car had been stolen, which was necessary to report is stolen. The first time that he saw it was in pictures, wrecked, but the plan is to get it back to the shop after SEMA and tear it down to find out the full extent of the damage.

The body is in bad shape from front to rear and with the engine being driven without coolant, there may be some engine damage. Of course, with all of the ramming, the crew has to find out if there is any chassis damage, but there is some good news. This car was insured for $250,000 shortly after being completed, so the repairs should be covered under insurance, provided that the chassis is in good enough shape to be repaired.

The damage is extensive and the story is incredible, but it made for a great show car at SEMA and it seems as though this Dodge Challenger Scat Pack will be restored to its form prior to being stolen and wrecked.
