With only 8,800 miles on the odometer, this stunning Stryker Purple Viper ACR set a new auction record with its $300,000 winning bid.

When Dodge discontinued the Viper, we all knew they were going to bring some monumental auction prices in the not-so-distant future. Sure enough, it wasn’t long before uber-low-mileage examples of Viper models started bringing some huge numbers at auction. Anymore, it’s not uncommon for a low-mileage ACR to bring north of $250,000 and soar well beyond that mark. However, this exceptionally rare Stryker Purple Dodge Viper ACR stands out among those elite-priced cars. Why? Well, look at it.

This gorgeous 2016 Dodge Viper ACR Extreme recently sold on Cars and Bids, the auction site founded by automotive journalism extraordinaire Doug DeMuro. Though some outstanding cars have brought in monumental bids throughout the history of Cars and Bids, this particular car stands out as the sole Viper in the top 75 highest-price auctions throughout the site’s entire auction history. It sold for an eye-watering $300,000. That is a new record for the legendary Viper on Cars and Bids.

Breathtaking Paint and Heart-Racing Performance

You’re likely aware of the Viper ACR Extreme and its credentials, but we’ll go ahead and lay them all out for you. The Extreme model is the most track-oriented Viper of the lineup. It has an adjustable suspension and, of course, the iconic rear wing, canards, and front splitter that generate over 1,700 pounds of downforce at speed. The Extreme package also includes the hood with those gargantuan vents you see in the photos to keep the roaring V10 as cool as possible.

Speaking of which, that monstrous 8.4-liter V10 spits out 645 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. As the automotive gods intended, that power makes its way solely to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

This particular example, though, has an undetermined amount of extra power courtesy of a set of Prefix Corporation cylinder heads with a matching camshaft, American Racing headers, and a pair of Corsa Performance mufflers. The owner also added DSE transmission and differential coolers and StopTech brakes. It seems, then, that this sleek serpent spent some time where it was truly destined to be: the race track.

Gorgeous from Any Angle

Inside and out, this car is absolutely phenomenal to look at. The eye-catching paint is complemented by black leather and Alcantara interior and a relatively low odometer reading of 8,800 miles.

Though it’s not the lowest-mileage Viper we’ve seen, it’s certainly low enough to warrant the “investment car” title. Almost without doubt, this car will only ascend in value as time moves on. We’ve got to give massive props to whoever originally ordered this car. Good taste is such an understatement; it’s almost an insult.

We’re just happy we spotted this thing on Cars and Bids and got to watch the auction go down. In the “after time” bids alone, this car ascended by over $50,000. With that level of bidding dedication, it’s safe to assume that it’s in good hands.
