Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge 2021

RoadKill Nights Powered by Dodge is returning in 2023 with all-new grudge race formatting.

In case you weren’t there for the August 13 event, this year’s RoadKill Nights broke attendance records after seven years running. 40,000 people came to Michigan to be close to the RoadKill action, making the once quiet event into a full blown “horsepower circus.” Back by popular demand, RoadKill Nights has been confirmed for 2023 by MotorTrend and Stellantis.

Traditionally powered by Dodge, the Grudge Race will be taking on a new format, with higher stakes and more exciting details. Like all other RoadKill Nights of the past, it will feature the cars from the show, Mike Finnegan and David Freiburger will be walking the grounds, manufacturer displays will be up, and thrill rides for the whole family.

“Roadkill Nights just continues to evolve and get better each year, and we knew we were going to run it back next year, so we thought, ‘Why wait?’,” said Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Dodge brand. “We’re announcing right now that our horsepower circus will be coming to town in 2023.”

For the Grudge Race, two people, a Mentor and Protégé, will each be building a street-legal drag racer using the Dodge Direct Connection HurriCrate 3.0 liter twin-turbo engine as the powerplant. The Mentor is an experienced drag racer having previously built drag racers, while the Protégé will be an automotive YouTube enthusiast who’s never built a racer. The concept is that the Mentor will aid the Protégé in building a race car to the best it can be to ultimately face off against other racers at the end of the night. This time, if even the Mentor gets stumped, all competitors will have access to Dodge’s Direct Tech Connection hotline at (800) 9981110 in case help is needed during the build.

Since it’s all new technology that both the company and the tech’s will be experiencing, Kuniskis was careful to mention that the members of the Grudge Race will be given more time to access the Direct Tech Connection – just in case of any mishaps or technological issues.
