While the 2015 Dodge Charger features an aggressive new look, a plush interior and a drivetrain lineup that includes the most powerful American production engine ever, one of the key features that we haven’t discussed is the price of the new full sized sport sedan. Dodge hasn’t rolled out the full pricing details for the new 2015 Charger, but we have an early look at the trimlines and the starting price for each of those packages.

The 2015 Dodge Charger will be offered in seven trimlines – SE, SXT, R/T R/T Road & Track, R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat.

The Dodge Charger SE and SXT both come with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 which sends 305 horsepower to the rear wheels by means of an 8-speed automatic transmission. The base model SE starts at $27,995 while the slightly more well-appointed Charger SXT starts at $29,995. Should the buyers of either of those trimlines want all wheel drive, you can add an advanced AWD system with automatic front axle disconnect to any V6 model for $3,000, and this includes unique 19 inch wheels wrapped in all-season tires.

2015 Dodge Charger R/T

The “entry level V8 model” for the 2015 Dodge Charger is the R/T package, which includes the 5.7L Hemi V8 with 370 horsepower and 395lb-ft of torque and the same 8-speed automatic transmission as the V6 models. The R/T comes nicely appointed at $32,995, but those who want more performance and more amenities can opt for the R/T Road & Track package (shown above in red) which adds the Super Track Pak, Dodge Performance Pages, a 3-mode stability control system, heavy duty brakes, sport tuned suspension, leather seats and many other items inside and out. The Road & Track package starts at $35,995 and like the rest of the 2015 Charger sedans with a Hemi – rear wheel drive is the only drive configuration option.

If you are buying a 2015 Dodge Charger and you want a more aggressive exterior appearance, improved handling and a ton more power, you can opt for the new R/T Scat Pack package (shown above in B5 Blue).   Starting at $39,995, the Charger Scat Pack comes with an exterior design that is similar to the Charger SRT lineup, the 392 cubic inch Hemi from the SRT lineup with 485hp and 475lb-ft of torque, an 8-speed automatic transmission, high performance suspension components, Brembo brakes a unique interior layout with a high end infotainment system and many other goodies – making the Scat Pack Charger the most powerful and most impressive big sport sedan in America for under $40k.

Now, if the 392 Hemi from the Scat Pack is right down your alley, but you want even better handling performance, you can opt for the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT 392. This model has the same drivetrain as the Scat Pack, but it adds a dual mode suspension system, bigger brakes with 15.4 inch front rotors, unique wheels wrapped in high performance tires and a luxurious sport sedan interior – all for $47,385. This is more or less the Scat Pack model with the handling components, interior comforts and high technology goodies of the Hellcat Charger.

The king of the hill is, of course, the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. Packing 707 horsepower and 650lb-ft of torque, the Hellcat Charger is comfortably the most powerful production sedan in the world while the high performance brakes and dual mode suspension help it to handle just as well as it accelerates. The Hellcat will easily crush any sport sedan in the world in a straight line and it will do it for just $63,995 – less than a third of the price of the next most powerful sport sedan in the world.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
