1972 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger - SEMA 2019

Steering wheel may be on the right, but this Valiant Charger from the Land Down Under has its heart in the right place.

The SEMA 2019 party at the Las Vegas Convention Center in, wherelse, Las Vegas never stops, unless it’s to do a sick burnout! We at Dodge Forum, on the other hand, are far from burning out on all of the kickass custom creations taking in the warm desert sun and bright neon lights, especially those with a Dodge, Plymouth, or Chrysler badge.

We’ve talked about what Dodge themselves were bringing to the party for this year’s SEMA, but there’s more on deck to check out beyond their floor space. For example, we found ourselves thunderstruck by this red 1972 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger visiting from the Land Down Under, Australia.

We found an even bigger surprise under the hood of this Aussie Charger. Instead of the famed Hemi inline-six, there was a big 540 cubic-inch aluminum V8 rocking 440 aluminum cylinder heads, and topped with an Edelbrock six-pack manifold. While we’ve no idea how much power it makes through the six-speed GM 4L80E automatic to the back, we’re plenty sure it’s ready to shake us all night long.

Inside the Valiant Charger, we found a lovely tan leather interior, accented with a big chrome steering wheel where a glove box would be for us up here, mostly wrapped in black leather. The custom paddle shifters are too cool, as is the custom gauge cluster with a full suite of gauges, and the infotainment system mounted just down under the action.

Meanwhile, the stunning red paint — Ferrari Rosso Corso, to be exact — flows across the Valiant Charger like glass, thanks to the extensive custom body work all around. We definitely dig the rear taillight assembly, especially when it’s capped off by the gas cap from a 2008 Challenger.

This work of wonder from Hills & Co. Customs of Taree, New South Wales is for those about to rock, ready to burn a path of glory upon the highway to hell. We certainly love these crazy Australian Chargers, and hope to see more make the trip across the Pacific in the future. Let there be rock!
