2021 Jeep Trackhawk

This 2021 Jeep Trackhawk may have a built 7.0-liter V8 with a Whipple supercharger sitting on top, but the modifications don’t stop there.

The Jeep Trackhawk is one of those nonsensical vehicles that we just love. A 707-horsepower SUV that gets gas mileage in the mid-teens makes no sense in the world today. That is exactly what makes it so appealing. But as nutty as a stock Trackhawk might be there will always be folks out there that have to push things beyond the sense of all reason. We call these people heroes. What else would you call a man who took a 2021 Jeep Trackhawk and upgraded it to the point where it makes nearly 1,300 horsepower? Not only is the final power output impressive but this is a high quality fully built machine. It is not like just the power was dialed up and everything else forgotten. Oh no. This Jeep has it all.

This week’s “Wicked Wednesday” is all about this 2021 Jeep Trackhawk. It is owned by Matthew Deville, and he lovingly refers to it as “Hulksmash7.0.” With the green paint, bulging flares and guttural roar from the aftermarket AWE exhaust it is easy to understand the Hulk reference. And like the Hulk this Jeep is more than just muscle. The brake rotors are upgraded, the ride has been lowered, there are front and rear diff braces. And to make sure the Hulk doesn’t lose his cool, a FI Interchiller is also in place. This thing has it all. A video was recently posted to the Lavish5.0 YouTube channel that provides a complete overview of this insane build.

It’s Scary

After giving a quick overview of the build Deville is asked what the Jeep is like since adding the Whipple supercharger. His answer is one that you would expect. “It’s scary” Deville explains. Well, that is not surprising. It has been lowered on Eibach springs, but it rides on 22-inch wheels and is making nearly double the factory horsepower rating. So, yeah scary sounds reasonable. And as of the time the video was shot Deville said he has not even launched the Trackhawk yet. It is heading to the folks at Overkill to get dialed in and then the gloves will really be off.

From Subaru to Trackhawk

Deville is asked what inspired him to build a Trackhawk and his answer is a bit surprising. He was originally going to get himself a Subaru. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but the moment Deville learned of the Trackhawk he knew that was the machine for him. It has all the space and practicality that he needs plus insane base performance with a robust aftermarket support that would allow him to make big power.

Ride Along

You can only stand around this 2021 Jeep Trackhawk for so long before you need to get inside and see what it can do. Things start out in a local office parking lot. Judging by the amount of rubber already laid down in the lot, it is no stranger to performance car antics. A couple of soft pulls shows the Jeep just squat and take off while making the most glorious exhaust sounds. After just a few minutes a couple of fans appear on the roof of the building and cheer on Deville and his amazing Trackhawk.

Launch

Open Road

Once out of the confines of the parking lot Deville can open up the Jeep a little bit more. The thing sounds fantastic on the open road. And even though Deville keeps a pretty tight leash on it in traffic, you can see the performance potential that this thing has.
