Hemi ‘Cuda could just turn out to be a bargain come Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale fall auction.

So, the Hemi ‘Cuda is your ultimate car and you reckon it will forever stay a dream? Well maybe not, if this pristine Rallye Red ’70 original has anything to do with it.

This stunning example of quite possibly America’s ultimate ‘70s muscle car comes under the gavel as a no-reserve lot at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale fall auction, October 22-24 . So whatever the price when the hammer drops, this 33,000-mile matching numbers original with a fresh squirt of rally red, will sell.

There’s as much a chance this ‘Cuda sells for an absolute bargain, as it has of settling a new record. Point is, if you don’t bid and it sells low, you’ll only have yourself to blame. And if it fetches megabucks, you can say you tried!

The second scenario is inevitable. Only 284 examples of this 431-horse 490 foot-pound 426-cube four-on-the-floor supercar ever rolled off the production line.

This particular car saw light of day for the first time on April 8 1970. It packs a pistol grip shift knob, ‘Shaker Hood’ and a hopped-up Dana 60 Super Track Pak rear axle. Which suggests its original owner wanted to be king of the road.

That much is evident by its sleeper standard 15-inch steel rims in the same rally hue, with patrol car chrome hubcaps.

The original white on back interior with sports seats, extra gauges and a Music Master radio is a highlight. All of which original specification will be verified by the documentation sitting in the cubby, come auction day.

Its original spec added $ 871 to this Hemi ‘Cuda’s relatively dear $ 3,164 price tag back in the day. Similar cars are on the market at some way beyond $ 1-million and it remains to be seen if and how lockdown has affected auction values…
