Hellcat Challenger - Ginny Nierop

Ginny Nierop

  • Year & Model: 2016 Challenger Hellcat M6
  • What you do with it? Daily driver.
  • What did you drive before your Hellcat/Demon? I have driven Corvettes from high school until my 2005 C6 convertible. My husband and I restored my uncle’s 1968 Ram Air GTO convertible, and we still own and enjoy it. When the modern muscle cars came out I purchased a 2010 Camaro that had an aftermarket Magnuson supercharger. It had about 690 hp and was a blast to drive. As soon as I heard about the Hellcat I knew it was going to be my next car. I was going to get a green or blue 2015, but when I found out about the PCP color, I held out for that.
  • Favorite thing about your Hellcat/Demon? I love this car, and the only mods are mid muffler delete and 10-inch-wide wheels for the rear, with drag radials. My favorite thing about the car is the horsepower. I always go higher with every vehicle I buy, so I’m pretty much at the limit of my bankroll!

Demon Wheels Up

Jean Milton

  • Year & Model: 2018 Challenger Demon
  • What you do with it? I’ve been racing it as soon as the motor break-in period was up. I now have 3,200 miles on it — 1/8 at a time.
  • What did you drive before your Hellcat/Demon? My previous car was a 2015 Dodge Hellcat. My husband and I have been involved with racing for 27 years. I’ve always been a spectator until Dodge came out with the Hellcat. It’s been a love affair ever since. I upgraded to the Demon because as a bracket racer, in my opinion, the best ET to be at without having to deal with roll cages, etcetera, is a low 10-second, quarter-mile car. The Demon was perfect!
  • Favorite thing about your Hellcat/Demon? My favorite thing about the Demon is putting those purpose-built race cars on the trailer in my street car. We travel all over the country racing together, and we use the Demon as our get-around town car. It’s AWESOME!!!

Hellcat Charger - Linda Toutkoushian

Linda Toutkoushian

  • Year & Model: 2015 Charger Hellcat
  • What you do with it? I drag race and daily-drive my Hellcat, known for being the 1st Hellcat Charger into the 9s. (Linda also owns “TopCat,” the record-setting Hellcat Challenger that was owned and driven by her late husband, John.)
  • What did you drive before your Hellcat/Demon? Prior, I drove a 2010 Furious Fuchsia SRT8 Challenger. My daughter, Kate, now races it. Has a D1 Procharger race build by High Horse Performance. I also drive a Dodge Ram 1500 dually diesel, which I also use to pull my trailer to the track.
  • Favorite thing about your Hellcat/Demon? My favorite thing about my Hellcat Charger is to be able to race and daily drive. The first time I raced down the track was very exciting, and I remember thinking: “Ahhh, Dodge built this right!” My Hellcat has been a really fun car to own. After all the excitement of the videos from the track, I have had many people say to me, “I saw your video and I had to buy a Hellcat.” My grandsons love to tell people, “My grandmom drag races a ‘Hell’ cat — they love to say “Hell,” especially at school. They think they are getting away with cursing. (laughs.) I’ve been parked at a mall and have had people waiting for me to come out to see if it was the Hellcat in the video. I just love everything about my Hellcat Charger: It is an exciting, fun, fast car! My husband really knew how to have a great time together and always had me involved with our or his cars!

Women of the Dodge Red Key Show Off Diabolical Hellcats continued…

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
