cold air is closer to the ground to get more cold air away from the engine short ram is closer to the engine not sure of the hp gains from each probably similar i have a short ram cold air also sucks up water from puddles which will get into your engine

would it be a problem to drive in winter conditions with a short ram... will it suck up snow.... and if its really cold outside and you have a cold air/short ram, will it take longer for the engine to warm up since its pulling all that cold winter air into the engine... would you have to take it out during the winter months??

the main gain is from flow. i have a digital thermometer and actually checked the temperature of the air cleaner at the throttle body. try it, you'll be surprised.
