Your best bet would probably be to use some 00 steel wool and some paint thinner. IF any lite scratches get on the rim from the steel wool it would be very easy to polish them out because they will be very fine. After you get all the paint of the lip just hit it with some Mothers wheel polish or something of that sort.

I pretty much just used the stuff found in this guide. A couple weeks later and still no chips! haha
