Default New Engine

So i want to put a bigger engine into my avenger and i want it to be manual. I dont know what will fit though. and i dont know all the parts i need, i know i will need the engine and transmission, but what else. I want to put the 4.7 liter engine in from a 99' dakota. What else will i need besides those two things...?

actually there hasNEVER been a successful V6 to manual conversion ... The 3.0 is an easy swap ... The manual is not an easy swap ...

If you want to try and put the Dak's motor and tranny in, then that's what you'll need. You'll also need the wiring harness from the motor, the ECU, and you'll have to wire up the instrument cluster too..or you can get universal gauges like Autometer to replace the stock gauges.

You are, however, leaving the known territory of motor swaps in an Avenger. You're pretty much on your own on the motor/tranny swap. It's not at all difficult to think of, it's the fitment of everything that's the nightmare. V8s have been swapped in before but everything had to be fortified and parts from different vehicles had to be incorporated. If you're ready for it, then go for it bud. Just keep in mind the overall motor height and space under the hood....
