WHAT WOULD CAUSE OIL TO SOAK THE AIR FILTER
i recently bought a dodge avenger 2.0 dohc, i finally got it running turned out to be crankshaft sensor, the cam sensor (yellow and blue wires needed to be switched) and a set of relays on the firewall.
it was running good i turned the air on and after about 5 minutes the motor was smoking alot of oil, also oil was smokingout the exhaust pipe, i took the breather off and it was soalked with oil, the temperature gauge was only on the half mark. i waited for the motor to cool down, unhooked the breather started up the car no smoke was coming out the exhaustuntil i reved the car up to 2500 rpms
my question is, what would cause oil tosoak the brether?

What breather? Are you saying that you have a small filter on the breather valve of the valve cover? If so, there's your problem right there. Your breather filter is soaked with oil.
Not to be a buthead. But wut is the whole point of those? Its seems the same as the PCV but does doesn't go back into the intake. Then im thinkin to does it airrate your oil? I don't get'em
Yeah, you're supposed to replace or clean those breather valve filters out. The breather valve actually does nothing for you. If the other side isn't permanently closed off, replace the rubber line and reconnect it all.
