Hey guys, I just bought an Avenger last week. Sadly, it has a wicked exhaust leak. My mechanic says I need a y pipe that comes off the manafold and quoted it at about $650.00. I am not finding this anywhere on the net. Can any experts confirm?

Technically it's a DOWNPIPE not a "Y" pipe ....

is it the i4 or v6 you can get headers that come with a down pipe for less then that

 

I4 does not need a y pipe it only has one exhaust ...

yea i realized that after i wrote the message my bad lol

 

I had trouble finding a y pipe/connecting pipe/flex pipe for my daughter's 97 Avenger with the 2.5 liter V6 engine. The muffler shop said they could only find the part through the dealer, and that it was over $1000 (I think he said $1600! - I sort of blanked out). Salvage yards wanted $175, but they had trouble finding one in good condition. But I found a new Walker catalytic converter (15848), which appears to have the y pipe included, for about $160.

UPDATE: NO - THE Y PIPE IS NOT INCLUDED! THEY ONLY SHIPPED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, NOT THE PIPES PICTURED!

instead of e-mailing Scott you could just purchase the downpipe off the DMS website.
