Sorry for lame subject name coundnt think what else to call it. Basically 95 Venge 2.5 auto. It has run fine for a while now but a couple of days ago i was turning in somewhere and it went dead. It started back up in nuetral but every since has ran like crap. It idles like crap, it surges on the road, tries to go dead if you slow down and the rpm drops below 2. I looked to see if any sensors may be loose or something but all buttoned up btw i just filled it up and put injector cleaner in it. Any help appreciated b/c I got offered a new job but cant take it with no car.

 

Maybe bad gas ( water in the tank or diesel fuel ) or a fuel pump going out or even a filter.

 

I replaced fuel filter maybe a month ago. How can I check fuel pump. Can you use ohm meter or something?

 

The pump will normally be good or bad. Turn the key to the "ON" position and you will here the relay click and the pump hum. If you don't hear either, then....

I agree about the bad gas. If you filled up while raining, you may have gotten water in there too.
If you feel it to be gas related, put some injector cleaner in the tank and give it a couple days or a good days worth of driving for it to evaporate.

If it's not the gas, my bet is the CPS unless you've already changed it.

 

Sorry for the really late bump and reply been working alot and havent had any free time working on friends cars. I figured out that it is the altenator. It wasnt charging enough to run everything right. Btw a sure sign is if you drive down the road and the car hits OD and the tranny it pulls so much it kicks everything off and resets the the tranny into first gear at 60 mph. Thats not a fun time when your already late for work. Anyways thought i would tell so you can a little knowledge to you impressive mind Silver. Btw anyone won't to sell a running 6G73.

 

Alternator? Really? Wow. Did you get a battery light on the dash at all? I didn't see that one coming, lol.
Another sure sign your charging system isn't working correctly is that your lights (headlights are easily noticed) will be dim at slower cruise speeds, the battery light, other intermitten dash lights such as, ABS light, (sometimes) a CEL (PCM related), etc.
