my cold air intake is the short one that sit right where the stock "box" intake used to sit. so it is just picking up the hot air blown from the fan.i am going to "reroute" it to go strait down from there to kinda behing the fog light, but out of the way of the fan. i think it will be most efficient there. there is a plastic piece to help protect it from rocks and debree, but he back side is open so hopefully it doesnt get wet, or get hit from rocks
