its only done it a couple times and it has done it right wheni started it up and after ive been driving for a long time and another thing that might be associated with this is when i give the car gas i can push the pedal down pretty good and i wont gain any speed and then ill hit a certain point and the rpms will shoot up and go like to make up for where i didnt gain any speed

It definitely sounds like a tranny issue.
Flush the tranny fluid with MOPAR ATF+3 or 4. DO NOT use Autozone "MOPAR replacement fluid" or anything like that.

yea something happened to me like that also when i first got my car, i would rev it up and it would almost seem like it was in neutral it wouldnt move then all of a sudden it would kick in and jerk ya... it turned out to be that my car didnt have a drop of tranny fluid in it.. the guy that i bought it off of never drove it and just let it sit for like a year. i guess i should have checked fluids before i drove off. but yea the dipstick was completely dry. im lucky i didnt damage the tranny. or atleast i havent noticed any type of damage. and after i put fluids in it, it ran like a champ.
