Default timing Belt tenssion?

Ok i have a question or two about the 2.5 timing belt tenssion, I took my check spot piece off and check my tenssion and on the inner side of the right cam the belt was rather loose. Is this normal or is this a bad tenssionor? the belt looked to be in ok condition i know it could be changed but dont look like its dry roted or anything no crack or missing teeth. and i was also wondering if it is too hard of a time to change it with just a nice set of craftsman tools and whatever i need at autozone from loan a tool. Thanx for the info..

When in doubt, change it out, lol. Space would be your only enemy I would think. Just mark everything in their respective positions and make sure to line everything up. It might be wise to replace the tensioner and oil pump too. Read the manual and it's procedures good and beforehand so that when you get to the actual work, things should just click I can't think of anything special except for letting the gasket maker (RTV) initially cure before you put the part back on, unless otherwise stated in the book and don't rush. It's a good time to look at the motor and all it's wonders, lol.
