Default 95 Avenger Thermastat V6

I recently bought a 95 V6 dodge avenger. It drives fine but after a couple months the coolant light and check engine light came on. I put coolant in but both lights stayed on. I dont know alot about cars. I do know that a broken thermastat might cause the coolant light to come on because coolant wont go to the engine. Should i replace the thermastat? If so..how do i do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

go to autozone or whatever and get the Check engine light scanned , get back to us on the codes then we can tell you what might be wrong ...

you don't say I4 or V6 , and my psychic powers don't work over the internet ....So I can't tell you on the thermostat

V6 is under the radiator cap on the engine block , remove the two bolts thermostat is under there ... get a new cap while you are at it as well as a thermostat and a gasket
