Default Oil light keeps coming on!!!

I have a question....i have a 98 ES.When i bought it the guy said it always had low oil pressure but that it didnt go low enough to hurt the engine(it just read low on the oil guage).Anyways, i noticed the oil light coming on everytime the cars is stopped at a light while running the red oil light comes on.Goes away soon as i touch the gas.
So i checked my oil sometime last week, noticed it was about a quart low.So i added a quart and realized i was passed my oil change.So today i take it in get the oil changed.One of the service guys tests my coolant with some device and shows me my coolant is at unsafe levels and i should get the coolant flushed.

So i go ahead and do that thinking maybe thats y my venge has been taking so long to heat up lately, and maybe after all this that oil light wont come on again.WRONG...soon as i left came back on.It did fix the oil pressure problem though, its sitting dead center in the middle of the guage.

My question is....what else could it be?Thanks

If the oil light is coming on and the gauge is sitting at mid gauge as indicated the sensor for the light is likely bad (there are two) one for the gauge, one for the light ....

I thought maybe that was a possibility....i just didnt want to blow it off and have something happen.Well eventially ill have to take it in to get the belt replaced for 120,000 miles, ill have them see if they cant fix it while its in the shop.
Badvenge....while my cars in the shop getting a new belt, should i have them check and fix anything else?Im under the assumption that the originalowner before me didnt do a whole lot of maintance to the car.Thanks!!!

I'd have them check the timing belt .... with a zero clearance motor if the timing belt breaks so does the engine ....

Yeah thats the belt i was referring to.....dont think its ever been changed.I just hit 120,000 miles a few days ago.The guy i got the car from had it since 54,000 miles, i asked him if he ever changed the timing belt and he looked at me and said the only thing hes changed has been the oil.Its my daily driver at the moment, been pretty lucky that it hasnt broke if its never been changed.
I dont think it has, hes had it since 54,000 and routine belt change is every 60,000 miles right?How much does that usually run?Im not sure if i want to be the one to do it, i have mechanical experiance with mustang 5.0 engines....but thats not whats in my venge lol.A whole lot different looking under the hood.Kinda intimidating at least to me.

I changed mine without to much problem. But, my camshaft sprocket gave me a fight trying to take it off.

Holy shaaat!!!I figured it would be costly but damn for that price i can get a whole new 3.0 motor and do a swap lol...Yeah i missed that link Badvenge, thanks.With a price tag like that im 100% certain ill be peforming the belt change on my own.

Yeah i can get a discount on parts and then go have someone do it, but it would be pointless because most of the shops around here will charge you for not having them get the part for you.
Well i work 5 days a week, and just had a baby girl on the tenth.So im sorta busy.I figure if i start the belt change on a Fri. after work i should have it done in time to drive it Mon.

Although id have to add in the stuck bolt factor i learned about when i changed my front pads and rotors a couple weeks ago.Three hours to change disc brakes, ridiculous.I couldnt get any of the caliper bolts off with out going to Napa for a can of some stuff the frees up stuck bolts.Bad experience lol, my hands got beat up after changing both sides.Took the socket and put a wrench on top for leverage and when they finally broke free, i threw my fist through the plastic wheel well thingy.SUCKED!It will be easier next time though...i hope.
