body kits
Yeah u can repair it with resin I think its called. The same stuff we they use to make speaker boxes. Use that to get it to stay together if its split, if its just cracked but still stays together use bondo. shops shouldn't charge you that much to have it repainted if you pull it yourself and/or your not in a rush to get it back. I had my spolier painted for free, waited 2 weeks but said they had a car coming in to get painted the same color as my spoiler they just threw it in the booth with the car.
Bigboy, is there any way you can email me a picture of the bumper? I know without looking at it, I would fiberglass it (which is what I have to do with mine thanks to the tow truck). My husband is an expert at all things in the bodyshop, and if you send me a pic I'll get him to look at it and get his opinion for you. My email addy is noregretsnbama@aol.com

our stock bumpers are polyurathane ...I do not recomend fiberglassing it as glass does NOT flex ...
There are specific polyurathane repair kits, they are two part kits that can fix the cracking ,but might pull apart if hit again...I prefer plastic welding with urathane sticks...
The 97+ bumpers will fit but to look right you need to replace the headlights and turn signals to 97+ as the 96 headlights turn signals fit differently...
As for body kits there are 4 primarily ...
TC1
TC2 (viper kit)
Blitz kit
Andy's auto sport add on kit

I love the way the viper body kit looks with the viper hood. I'm going to order one for my son's venge in the next couple of months.
Plastic weilding is wonderful, and although I have no idea where you are, it is extremely expensive here. I looked into having a piece weilded on my 4 wheeler recently and it was cheaper to just buy another body kit for the 4 trax. Bad Venge is correct and fiberglass does not give, but if you don't have a lot of damage and the repair area is small (won't know without pics) a small jolt will often be distributed to the rest of the bumper and keep the repair area in tact. I like kitty hair, but my husband typically uses the strips of fiberglass. Then again, my experience in the body shop was very limited, where he has almost 18 years under his belt. We had planned on reinforcing mine on the backside of the bumper with a long thin piece of metal to help distribute any blows. The problem with bumper covers on almost any car is that even the smallest bumps tend to damage them and a small ding will run you around $300 here to fix.

Plastic welding kits are very cheap ....I bought mine from harbor freight tools and it's paid for itself hundreds of times over on just one bumper repair ...Sticks are bought from the local body supply shop...
so if i have a 1996 sebring and i get a viper body kit for example..will it fit right? like just the bumper? i plan on buying new headlights and turning signals anyway but will the front bumper alone fit?

yeah and i just found out..well not just found out but just realized that i have to find a new trunk too..beceause on the 97+ the license plate is on the bottom bumper intsead of on the trunk..any idea of where i would find another trunk?
If you have a 96 the plate is on the trunk lid ... You CAN just buy a 97+ filler piece and it bolts on to the existing trunk
Then you'd need a 97+ BUMPER to move it to the bottom
car-parts.com searches junkyards to find the parts
