I have a 2000 V6 Avenger. I had always noticed an intermittent shaking while the car was idling and i was sitting in it. Yesterday it has gotten worse. Seems almost like a misfire but I have no CEL light. I plan to change the plugs wires and rotor/cap on Friday. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem before I spend the $100.

 

Shaking can be a bad Idle Air Control ... Watch the RPM's do they fluctuate when the "shake" occurs ???

 

They do fluctuate a bit but barely noticable. Where is the Idle Air Control sensor located?

 

Top of the throttle body ... I'd go get some seafoam and run it thru the intake and see if that cleans it up ...
