Default 98 2.5, pull engine and trans at same time?

Hello,

I've just joined. You guys are a wealth of information.

My daughter's car is a 98 ES. I have a remanufactured trans to install now, and am planning to replace the timing belt and water pump in the near future (Nice writeup bad venge).

I'm looking for opinions on whether to attempt to pull the 2.5 and trans at the same time, or separately. I see it is a tight fit, and am unsure if the engine/trans will come out as one unit or not. I have a 2-ton engine hoist, but no lift, just floor jacks and stands. Any insight is very appreciated.

It's pretty much personal preference it can be done either way ...
You can split them and remove them individually or pull them as a unit ...
I've even seen them removed out the bottom as a unit (on a lift) I doubt you can get that out the bottom on just jackstands
