My wife drove car with oil light on for about 8 miles then it started making a knocking noise. I think it is coming from the top of motor. I took off valve cover and started car, and when i touch bearing caps on front camshaft i feel nothing but on back camshaft i can feel vibration consistant with knocking noise. (it knocks at all engine speeds) Would this be lifters? Also car has 180000 miles and if it is lifters, what else should I replace when I replace those? not sure when or if it has ever had timing belt put on.
