Default 95 Avenger Starts but sounds like it flooding when put in gear?

The car starts and when you put it in gear it sounds like it is flooding. I can not get the car go over 5 mph and it starts to sputter. Any ideas?

Default Yes.

I can start her just fine. It also idles just fine. Just once you give her gas it starts to bog down. If you put her into drive it is choking for air. If you let up on the gas pedal and tap it a bit you can move forward but that is about it.

Have you pulled off the aircleaner and looked at the throttlebody to ensure that it's opening ???

Default Replaced the Disturb.

I replaced this and now able to get to 40 mph but engine now idles roughly. Now looking at the throttle opening it seems to work when I press the gas. I wonder if that is bad. Since now I am getting radical idle now?

I'd suggest a bottle of Seafoam and clean the intake tract ...

Default Question

Should the intake flap that allows air to come through open by itself when at Idle? I did notice that mine is staying closed. What do you think. I will run some sea thru the system.

at Idle the IAC (idle air control) controls air , the TB controls under throttle

I will go ahead check the IAC and TB and see if there is something a muck with one of these.
