Default Passenger Lower Ball-Joint (Curved)?

The bolt on the ball joint is striped, probably from when i had those idiots put a 3000 tranny in. Anyways it was only on about 1.5 turns or so, with a .375 gap from knuckle to nut itself. i shimmed it for now. But my question is can i just get a new end and press it in the arm or do i need the arm and ball joint? i found some really nice ends made by moog. thanks in advance
