Default OBD II Code Question

I have a 1997 Avenger ES. The check engine light came on so I went to Auto Zone and the tech plugged in an OBD II unit which came up with codes P0700 and P1768. If someone could give me information on what these codes mean in regard to my Avenger I would appreciate it.

Default AutoZone Printout

AutoZone did give me a printout of the codes, however, the definitions for the two codes are not for dodge vehicles.

Default Notations

On the P1768 it has something for Honda, Isuzu, Acura, and Volkswagon. On the P0700 it has something for those and Chrysler which is about the transaxle control system fault which I wanted to double check since it's not specific to the Avenger. But there is nothing dodge related on the P1768...

Our forum has a few, but that P1768, it doesn't.

Do the keydance so that you can get a generalized area.
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/general-tech/8717-service-engine-codes-for-obd-engines.html
...or look at the "P" codes from here.
P1768

Performance / Normal / Winter Mode Input Malfunction

From that, it could be a PCM/tranny issue, or even something as simple as the fluid...remember, that the A604 is finicky and only agrees with MOPAR/Mitsu tranny fluid. Don't settle because of price.
So, as you can see, there is a transmission issue. Whether it be electrical or mechanical is hard to tell from here as we know nothing about your car, so you'll have to give us some more info about the tranny.

Any other ideas BV?

Default Car Info

I just bought the car a little while ago so I don't know a ton about it. It has the 2.5L engine, and the transmission acted fine before but now it won't go into o/d. It still runs smooth in the lower gears but when I push the o/d switch it says it's off or on but it's the same-no o/d. I'm probably going to get a diagnostic that's a little better than AutoZone...

This will sound weird .... But do you have back up lights ??? No backup lights check the fuse , the fuse also supplies the O/D circuit

Default Backup Lights

I'm not driving the car today so I'll have to check after work. Thanks for the suggestion.
