Thumbs down just returned from Dodge Dealership

and they pretty much said that there is no lifetime warranty on the lower control arm/ball joint failure and since the original owner has gotten the recall done in 2001, they said they could not do it. I said that i heard that they might try this on me and I was very persistent. I explained that many people said the dealership would try to get away with not doing it and the recall was for the life of the vehicle, but they said there was nothing that came up on the computer about this. The person even showed me the screen and everything it said about my car. I kept questioning the life of the recall, but she said once it's done it's done. She gave me the 1-800 # and that's it. So, I tried, but I really think it's funny how exactly alike it is to other Avenger driver's experiences with this.

2) The recall covers the ball joints and front lower control arms.

LOWER CONTROL ARMS ARE NOT THE SAME AS LOWER LATERAL ARMS......

LOWER CONTROL ARMS (they are curved arms) are NOT covered by the recall....

LOWER LATERAL ARMS AND ITS BALL JOINT (straight arm) IS covered by the recall.

just wondering, what is right? control arm or lateral arm. Every site I look on about the recall, the title of the recall is Suspension: Front Control Arm, but in each and every description it talks about the failure of the lower lateral arm. My local mechanic recently looked up the recall for me and it says the lower lateral arm. He repaired the Right front lower control arm for me about a half year ago.

All you have to do is READ and understand it ...
The STRAIGHT arms and ball joints are covered the CURVED arms are not ...

YOU have to CALL and raise He!! with the 800# to get them to cover it , If you can get When they were replaced under warranty/recall and what mileage , and what the mileage is NOW you have a good arguement as to Why the failed ALSO have the receipt if youpaid for the last replacement

thanks Veng, i did understand the Recall, it's just contradicts itself.

2) The recall covers the ball joints and front lower control arms.

then it says

LOWER CONTROL ARMS (they are curved arms) are NOT covered by the recall....

so i was like wtf lol but I assumed it was lateral arms and I called the 800# yesterday of course after explaining my situation, the guy says they're experiencing a computer system failure so I would have to call back. What a joke, but I will keep annoying them and get my money bck. Thanks again.
