Default Multiple problems.....

well as you all know I haven't been around for a while because everything has been going well with my car. The dealership was wrong about the radiator so I dont have to get one of those fortunately. Now onto the bad news.

My car is a 97 v6 venge for all you that dont know.

Came up a road last night and the car started sputtering. I let off the gas and it stopped. I coasted to an intersection and then proceeded to press the gas. The car stalled and would not start. The engine fuse link was blown so I used the power windows one to get me home since it was the same amp. No problems while driving the rest of the way home.

Today drove to the parts store to pick up a new fuse link. While going to go get food the car felt like the tranny was trying to go into park while driving 40 mph down the road. I got to where I was going and opened the hood. Car is now running lean, stalling, not being able to be driven in any gear other than first, and has 3 error codes and a broken speed sensor.

The first error code is a fuel injector circiut open cylinder 2
second is for cylinder 4 same code as above ^^

the third i forget what it said but the code was p1782 and said something about the tranny.

A guy at the store said that the car comes with the regular computer and then a tranny computer on the car and that I may need to replace that.

There was 7 codes before we reset the car and 4 has the same type that the p1782 said but different numbers and the two open injector circiut. The seventh code was a code that stated that the secod gear ratio was incorrect.

Any suggestions on what I should do.....???

Default okay......

so the open injector circuits are just that......Not the injectors though. All injectors are working fine and the two with the codes are spraying fuel like there is no tomorrow although the can is still missing and running extremely lean. I know that alot of stuff can go wrong from a sensor that doesnt even relate to the problem at hand but think it could all be because of my stupid speed sensor that is out???

try cleaning out the weather pack harnesses for those injectors with a contact cleaner safe for plastics. See if that fixes the issues with the open injector circuit.

You definitely want to replace that speed sensor.

already replaced both speed sensors and the speedo still doesnt work. the injectors work but 1 is dumping unregulated feul into the cylinder. Sorry for spelling but... So i unplugged that 1 and the other injector that was throwing the code and still was running like u were pouring straight gas into one of the cylinders. Still running in limp mode with the new sensors and I did reset everything so everything should work perfect. Anyone know of a way to reset it completely so that there is no way that it could think that the speed sensors are still the old ones???

oh yea.....

when i mean unregulated i mean if its at 2500 rpm while in neutral for 10 to 15 mins then it uses a quarter of a tank. Hate to know what I would use really driving.

okay so i think the speedo is working properly ONLY when i am accelerating....weird huh. Also a mechanic guy I work with said it may be a head gasket or intake but said if it was a head gasket or intake then it would smoke white all the time not just after the engine starts to heat up so I am completely stumped.

ok ok.....i think the prob with the speedo is the connections. Gonna check that tomarrow. Hopefully everything will go well so I dont have to pay 65 bux to get new wires run.

edit:

oh yea. Anyone know what kind of compression I should be running....

I did a test on the cylinders with the problems and they were 185 and the one with no prob was 195. Also anyone know what the resistance of a good injector is and also what the volts are that go to the injector themselves???
