Hey,
I have V6 '98 Avenger, everytime I slow down from about 50 Mph my engine tries to die on me! The other thing is weird cricking noise coming from my transmission everytime I switch gears. Does any one what might be a problem? Any suggestion can be helpful!

Well for the almost stalling... it could be you plugs, plugs wires or even you IAC, and as for your clicking noise... does it do it only when it down shifts? always did it?

I've checked my plugs and wires, its all good. How about fuel filter or maybe my alternator does not have enough juice to keep it running? Clicking noise is always only when I am shifting my gears, or slow down. I will replace my fuel filter and see what happens!

 

That "Cricking" noise should just be you trans. oil pump, totaly normal in most dodge cars

well first of all strike one is that its a mitsu v-6, but thats another story try checking the idle control but first make sure your ecu isnt dying on u cause thatll cost ya. let me know what u find

 

Hey thanks everyboDy! I found the problem! it was my EGR valve! cost me $300 to fix it but oh well!
My next question is is there any cheap way to boost the AVENGER?

 

The words "Cheap and Boost" have never gone well together, lol. Unless you can find an owner with an already boosted A/S that is selling just the mods.
