Hello all, I own a 96 avenger es 2.5. I recently upgraded my alternator to a 260 amp one. this is to run the tvs and stereo. Every since the change my engine fuse blows about a secound or two after starting.It's the 30 amp fuse under the hood any help would be nice. Thank you.

 

Check for corrosion on the 2 white fusible links on the + terminal.
The alternator upgrade shouldn't have anything to do with it unless you scuffed a wire on the harness ect

Off topic, but where did you get your alternator? I'm shopping around for an aftermarket to replace my OEM one now that the car is deserving of some functional upgrades (glad the avenger is finally running smooth).

 

thank you BV for your advice. that wasn't the problem,some of the hot wire was touching the alternator.Killa200 i got the alternator from a company call iraggi alternators mine was 476 dollars for a 260 amp but he has smaller ones i just have a huge system
