im wanting to possibly put the a578 5spd neon trans into my avenger that currently has the 604 5spd trans will this work or major modifications needed?

the reason behind this is i need a 604 5spd for my avenger due to my differential blowing out of the case and pretty well destroying the whole bell housing part of the case
unless someone on here may have a transmission like i need for cheap ?

 

NO there is no easy direct bolt 5 speed to the 2.5 motor there was only one shop that got a 5 speed to work with major mods to work . Unfortunately they are in financial troubles

 

sorry i should have specified my avenger is a 2.0 i believe the a578 neon trans is the 2.0 dohc neon 5spd ? *hopes* perhaps this changes the answer?
