Need help with this quick
I have a 1997 dodge avenger base, with the 4 cylinder engine in it. I starved it of oil and I think I broke a rod.. That's what it sounds like. I turn it on and it doesn't have any power and makes the rod knocking noise. If you have any idea to what this would be please post.
Also I found some engines that are 4 cylinders made from different company's, are all 4 cylinders the same size and stuff? Would I be able to get a 1999 Ford Contour 4 cylinder engine in my car?
Please help me, I need a car to get too and from school everyday.
Thank you!
Btw I'm new to the forums

Ok, yes you prolly thru a rod if it goes clank clank clank clank nonstop. NO, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON A CONTOUR MOTOR! The two motors that fit are the stock 2.0 and the 2.5 litre v6. Some people do swaps in them like the 4g63t and the 4g63 and there is a lot of modification involved.
Just get a motor from a parts recycling center...Pueblo Colorado has hundreds of them. The internet has thousands of them you can get from $200.00-$1000.oo.

Is it a dual climate or single? The newer A/C systems rely on doors because it is a more complex a/c...So it might be a door bein blocked...check to see if it blows cooler or harder on one side or not. Is there any problems with the low or high? Also could just be a motor goin out.
Is the A/C a cold air issue? Or just doesnt blow hard enough?
