My speedometer isnt working on my 96 Dodge Avenger ES. I pulled the cluster out and realized its all electronic. Any suggestions as to where to look for the problem.

 

automatic? does the trans shift properly?

BEST method for diagnosis is to use a REAL scanner and see what data is showing, you can also use a scanner to test the instrument cluster. or just get a different cluster and hope that fixes it.

 

Clean the contacts on the rear with a pencil eraser. Tighten the screws on the rear of the cluster I've seen both of these cause troubles

 

i figured it out. I had to replace the broken rear motor mount bracket and saw that the plug had come out. Thx for the help though
