My 2000 avenger has JB weld on those areas for some reason. bought the car like that. I guess thats how just those manifolds are. I still prefer these avengers over the new ones. little more stylish i say.

I've had this same problem on my '98 ES. It seems to come and go though. I finally got it back on the road recently, and the first day it was doing this. If i was on on the throttle and let off too quickly, it would sputter and stall out. It also did this if I feathered the throttle rather than gunning it. Since then, I haven't had any problems...and it's never given me enough trouble to really look into it...unfortunately I have no idea what causes it, but I'm interested if you find out what the problem is.
