On the V6 automatic shift stick (not sure of the proper name) the "over-drive" button doesn't click anymore, it has to be held by a rubber band, and it's VERY irritating, on top of that, the lights in the gear selection box have gone out. So I would like to fix/replace both things. Has anybody taken that "stick" off? I see the screw in the back, but I'm worried it's filled with springs, and I'm going to total my car because I won't be able to change gears, haha.

it unscrews then pulls off but be careful the wires to the switch are very tight...
if you don't use the switch connect the trd to the black wire and it will bo on all the time

lights are under the plate need to remove the console top
