I have a 97 Dodge Avenger ES 2.5L engine. Love the car i've had it for 8 years. For awhile now it doesn't shift into the last gear until it's warmed up and then it shifts fine. Just wondering if anyone has the answer for this. is it a simple fix or is my tranny slowly going out? please help I'd really like to keep this car...

 

Have you checked the Fluid ?

 

Yes, the fluid is good. I had the fluid and filter changed a few months ago to see if that would help. It didn't make it better or worse. I've checked the fluid a few times since and it's good.

 

sounds like rebuild time then
