Hey guys,y 97 avenger just stopped yesterday, fuel pump kicks on and theres spark cause if we spray into the intake it starts up, so the injectors not firing? What causes this, and is there anyway to bypass whatever failed so it can be driven back home atleast ?

 

I've never heard of the injectors shutting down , would be the computer ...
Are you POSITIVE you are getting fuel ? Have you checked Voltage to fuel pump ?

 

I lifted the rear seat and I listened for the pump, I hear the pump come on , could I still not be getting fuel? The car did shut off a mile after I filled the tank, how can I check?

 

check for constant voltage , I've seen them come on and the ASD relay kick on

 

What was the final Resolution on this one? I have the exact same issue and I am one step from buying a proper shop manual and a multi-tester! lol
